What We Do

Full Moon Farm is diversified in what it offers.

We retail seasonal vegetables and herbs, pasture raised pork, grass-fed beef, fresh baked goods and bread, bouquets, and free range eggs out of our historic barn.

Farmstand and Self Serve

Every Saturday, June through October, we open our farmstand with all that the farm has to offer. Additionally, we carry locally produced maple and honey products. We offer a unique retail experience, operating out of a refurbished barn that has been a part of Hampton’s agricultural scene since 1901.

During the 2021 season we opened a self service style farmstand open seven days a week, April through December. The self serve stand offers a smaller selection of goods, but customers are able to access meat, eggs, fresh vegetables, and bread at their convenience.

Vegetable Production

Full Moon Farm has always produced the highest quality vegetables, and was certified organic for over 20 years. Although we are no longer certified, we still grow using organic methods and exclusively use organic seed stock and inputs. We refuse to compromise freshness and use several methods to ensure the longevity of harvested produce.

Some of the vegetables that we grow seasonally include asparagus, spinach, kale, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, summer and winter squash, beets, potatoes, onions, garlic, peppers, melons, broccoli, beans, carrots, and turnips.

Grass-fed Beef

Our beef cattle graze nearly 20 acres of pasture and are given hay during the winter months when grass is scarce. Our animals are never treated with growth hormones or antibiotics.

Grass-fed beef has an incredible flavor and broad nutritional profile. It is much lower in calories, rich in vitamins A and E, and is loaded with Omega-3 fatty acids.

Pasture Raised Pork

Every year we raise pigs on an acre of wooded pasture, where they are able to root, forage, and wallow. Our pigs are fed a mix of vegetables from the garden and grain gown locally in Scotland, Connecticut. Because the pigs are happy and healthy, the flavor and cooking quality of the pork is uniquely wonderful.

Bouquets

During the summer and fall we offer flower bouquets. Every bouquet is thoughtfully arranged with a mix of flowers and foliage and sometimes culinary herbs. No two arrangements are the same and they all take on their own color scheme and personality.

Baked Goods

During the summer months we supply fresh baked goods at our Saturday farmstand. Every week the selection is different, but you can commonly find cookies, brownies, scones made with berries from the farm, muffins, and, in the fall, apple pies made with our apples.

Since 2020, we have offered sourdough hearth bread, which has quickly become a staple of the community. Our baker has since expanded and opened a commercial bakery called Little River Bread Co. We carry his bread on Saturday markets.
